Good practices relating to pesticide application techniques covering the following:

(i) Weather conditions (in general: Do not spray during the windy weather conditions or during hot hours of the day, if the foliage is wet or if rain is imminent. Spray strictly in direction of the wind to prevent prolonged or repeated exposure to the spray mist. Do not underdose or overdose by overlapping applications or by exceeding the recommended rate.

(ii) Soil and Water (wherever applicable): This is not a soil applied insecticide hence, not applicable. Do not contaminate water used for irrigation or domestic purpose and water areas such as flowing or stagnant water, ponds, ditches, lakes, drainage systems, etc. by disposal of product waste, direct over spray or spray drift.

(iii) Crops stage for application: Give first spray when insect pests reach ETL. Repeat another spray at 10-15 days interval depending upon pest pressure.

(iv) Application techniques: Foliar spray.

(v) Equipment type: Spray with a knapsack or any other suitable sprayer.

(vi) Nozzle type: Hollow cone nozzle or any other suitable nozzle.

(vii) Dosage: Given in the table above.

(viii) Directions for use / Instructions for mixing: Measure out the required quantity of the product and mix it well with a small quantity of water. Add the remaining quantity of water as specified with thorough agitation for total coverage of the crop with a suitable sprayer.
total coverage or crop with a suitable sprayer.

(ix) Re-entry period: Do not enter treated areas for 24 hours after each
application.

(x) Pre-harvest interval: Given in the table above.

(Xi) Manner & Time of Application: Give first spray when insect pests reach ETL. Repeat another spray at 10-15 days interval depending upon pest pressure.

(xii) Frequency including maximum number of application: Give first spray when insect pests reach ETL. Repeat another spray at 10-15 days interval depending upon pest pressure. Maximum two applications per crop season.

(xiii) Stages during which pesticide should not be applied on any crop: In the case of insecticides, application is initiated based on Economic Threshold level (EL). As such there is no restriction about the stage of crop unlike in herbicides.

(xiv) Phytotoxicity: Non-phytotoxic when applied at the recommended dose.

Resistance Management:

GROUP 30 INSECTICIDE

1. IRAC Group code: 30
2. Mode of Action: Acts on the insect nervous system as a GABA-galed chloride channel allosteric modulator.
3. Chemical Class: Isoxazolin.
4. This product contains the active ingredient isocycloseram which is a Group 30 insecticide. The repeated use of the product and insecticides belonging to Group 30 against successive generations of the target insects may result in the selection of insects that are resistant to the insect and may result in the collection of insect insecticides. As a result, there may be partial or total loss of control of Thierstalias in the same mode of action group sharing the same biological site of action and it is assumed that resistance which has evolved to one insecticide within a group will also affect other insecticides within the same group. In order to avoid or delay the selection of resistant insects.

Group 30 insecticides should be used as part of an insecticide resistance management (IRM) strategy that incorporates the following:

• Insecticides from the same mode of action group should not be used to treat successive generations of the target pest.
• Multiple applications (maximum two of the product and other products containing Group 30 insecticides may be made successively but only when targeting a single generation of the target insect.
• If more than one application of an insect control agent is required to control successive generations of the target pest then alternative insecticides with different modes of action should be utilized in rotation with the product.
• Where possible incorporate alternative methods of pest control as part of an integrated pest management (IPM) approach.

Storage:

1. The packages containing the insecticides should be tightly closed, stored in original containers in separate rooms or premises away from the rooms or premises used for storing other articles particularly articles of food and animal feed or shall be kept in separate almirahs under lock and key, away from children, unauthorized persons and animals.
2. The roams or premises meant for storing the insecticide shall be well built, dry, well lit ventilated and of sufficient dimension to avoid contamination with vapor. Keep away from direct sunlight.
3. Do not allow the product to freeze.

Safety Precautions:

  • Always follow the Label/Leaflet instructions when handling the product.
  • Do not use cooking utensils for preparing the spray solution.

  • Avoid contamination of water bodies with the insecticide. Also wash the contaminated clothes separately before re-use.
  • Newly treated areas must not be grazed and all livestock is to be kept out until the treated area is dry. This product should not be applied (tank-mix) with any other chemical. Do not blow the nozzle with your mouth.
  • Do not spray crops under stress. If any indisposition occurs, stop the work, follow first aid measures and call a physician immediately.
  • Spilled product must not be re-used.
  • Remove the heavily contaminated soil layer, collect up spilled material thoroughly and bury it in a safe place.
  • Rinse the spilled area with plenty of water. Run-off into surface water to be avoided. In case of any sign of poisoning, immediately consult the doctor.

Cautionary statements:

1. Not to be used for any purpose other than those subscribed on labels & leaflets.
2. This product is very toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. DO NOT
contaminate water bodies when cleaning equipment or disposing of conditions, or from spraying equipment, which may cause spray to draft onto adjacent areas, particularly water bodies.
